Briefly: David Bowie, Tim McGraw, Courtney Love, The Donnas
David Bowie has canceled his planned Friday (7/2) appearance at Denmark's Roskilde Festival, apparently due to a shoulder injury. He has also called off two scheduled performances in Austria.
Last week, Bowie aborted a concert in Prague due to shoulder pain. According to his website, his doctor has ordered him to rest due to a trapped nerve in his shoulder.
Country star Tim McGraw will issue his ninth album, "Live Like You Were Dying," on Aug. 24. The title track is already getting extensive airplay on country radio stations.
The album marks the second straight release on which McGraw is backed by his touring group, The Dancehall Doctors.
McGraw is currently in the midst of a summer amphitheater tour.
Courtney Love reportedly arrived five hours late for a court hearing on Monday (6/28), drawing the ire of the New York judge who was hearing her case.
According to Newsday, Love apologized to the judge. Her attorney later told reporters that she was late because he didn't know if she would be required to appear.
Love is accused of assault and endangerment in connection with a March 18 incident in which she allegedly threw a microphone stand into the audience at a club, striking a fan.
She also is facing separate assault and drug-related cases in Los Angeles.
The Donnas have begun work on their fifth album. The group is recording the as-yet-untitled set in Los Angeles with producer Butch Walker (Avril Lavigne, Sevendust), and a fall release date is targeted.
