New dates take Boston's tour through August
Arena-rockers Boston are set to launch their second tour in as many years in July, and a recently unveiled batch of dates will keep the outing on the road through August.
The tour now is scheduled to visit 30 markets, focusing on cities that the group wasn't able to visit last year.
Boston guitarist, producer and songwriter Tom Scholz and original frontman Brad Delp will be joined on the trip by current band members Kimberley Dahme (bass, vocals), Anthony Cosmo (guitar, backing vocals), Fran Cosmo (vocals, guitar), Gary Pihl (guitar, keyboards, backing vocals) and Jeff Neal (drums, vocals).
Boston's fans have proven to be a patient lot; the group has released only five original albums in more than 30 years. The group's most-recent release is 2002's "Corporate America."
According to a press release, the group has been in the studio with Scholz, working on new material, some of which was written by Dahme and Anthony Cosmo.
Boston exploded on the '70s rock scene with a flurry of hits featured on its self-titled, debut album, including "More Than a Feeling," "Long Time" and "Peace of Mind." The album has sold more than 18 million copies in the U.S. and Canada to date, according to a press release.
The band has never made a music video or performed on television.
