Briefly: Missy Elliott, Usher, Snoop Dogg, Joni Mitchell, Americana Conference
Missy Elliott has called off a scheduled gig in Jakarta due to a recent U.S. Embassy statement warning of possible terrorist attacks in Indonesia. She was scheduled to perform on Thursday (5/27).
Usher 's "Confessions" is entrenched at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart for its eighth week, topping the debut of the No. 2 album, Method Man's "Tical 0: The Prequel," by about 50,000 copies.
New Found Glory's "Catalyst" enters the chart at No. 3, while Gretchen Wilson's "Here for the Party drops from No. 2 to No. 5.
Alanis Morissette's "So-Called Chaos" makes its chart debut at No. 5, according to Billboard.
Rapper Snoop Dogg , citing "irreconcilable differences," reportedly has filed for divorce from his wife of seven years.
A new, 16-song Joni Mitchell compilation billed as "commentaries on the world in which we live" is scheduled to hit stores on July 27.
Tracks for the set, titled "The Beginning of Survival," were culled from the Mitchell albums "Dog Eat Dog," "Chalk Mark in a Rainstorm," "Night Ride Home," "Turbulent Indigo" and "Taming the Tiger."
