LeAnn Rimes gets busy with tour, Fan Fair, children's book

LeAnn Rimes has launched a 24-city tour, during which she's road-testing new material that will turn up on her next studio album.

Rimes--who kicked things off last week with a two-night stand in Florence, IN --rolls into Las Vegas this weekend for her next pair of shows, and is scheduled to hit venues throughout the U.S. until mid-August. Her setlist includes "many of the new tracks from her forthcoming studio release along with her biggest hits," according to a press release.

Included in Rimes' summer plans is a June 10 performance at the annual CMA Music Festival Fan Fair in Nashville, marking her first appearance at the event in four years. The following day, she'll be signing autographs at her booth in the Nashville Convention Center between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., and will appear as part of the event's Celebrity Close Up Q&A Series from 4:30-5 p.m.

On June 12, Rimes will host a party for members of her soon-to-be-launched fan club. (Details about the club are posted at Rimes' website.)

"I can't wait," Rimes said of her Fan Fair appearances in a statement. "After every concert on tour, I always meet with fans, but [at] Fan Fair, I get to meet with fans from all over the country at the same time. I love their enthusiasm and so appreciate their love and support."

Rimes plans to release an as-yet-untitled album in the fall. She's recording the set at Emerald Studios and Sound Kitchen in Nashville with producer Dann Huff (Faith Hill, Wynonna, Lone Star, Keith Urban).

In August, Rimes and husband Dean Sheremet will release a new children's book titled "Jag's Best Friend." The book is the couple's second in what is planned as an ongoing series of tales "about a young jaguar who learns important life lessons while growing up among an exciting jungle filled with fascinating characters from the animal kingdom," according to a press release.
