Rickie Lee Jones hits the road again in June

Rickie Lee Jones , who continues to support her first album of all-new material in six years, has lined up about a dozen June concerts, and more shows are in the works.

The singer/songwriter wrapped up her latest round of North American shows in January, and followed it up with a Japanese tour.

V2 Records issued Jones' latest album, "The Evening of My Best Day," in early October. Besides Jones' typical story-driven songs, the set includes overt political commentary on the tracks "Ugly Man," aimed at President George W. Bush, and "Tell Somebody (Repeal the Patriot Act)."

Guest players on the album include Bill Frisell, Steve Berlin and David Hildalgo of Los Lobos, Mike Watt, Grant Lee Phillips, Eric Benet, Syd Straw and Rob Wasserman.

The album is her first collection of self-penned material since 1997's trip-hop influenced "Ghostyhead," and her 13th set overall. She released the covers album "It's Like This" in 2000, and followed it with "Live at Red Rocks" in 2002.
