Indigo Girls Line Up Tour Behind "Come On Now, Get Social"

Just a month removed from the rigors of Lilith Fair, Indigo Girls are readying to hit the road again. This time, Amy Ray and Emily Sailers will be touring behind a new album.

The band's seventh Epic studio album, ''Come On Now Social,'' is scheduled for release on Sept. 28, and features guest appearances by Joan Osborne, Sheryl Crow, Kate Schellenbach and Me'shell Ndegeocello.

The album grew from a London jam session with the English band Ghostland, which includes John Reynolds (Sinead O'Connor's drummer and musical collaborator), Caroline Dale (cello), Clare Kenny (bass), and Carol Issacs (piano, accordion, organ, moog). The result, according to the band's label, was a more diverse-sounding recording that expands upon the band's reputation for straightforward folk music.

The tour, which hits theater-sized venues, gets underway on Sept. 23 in Chatanooga, Tenn., and runs through late October. Multiple dates are booked for the Tower Theater in Upper Darby, Penn., and the Beacon Theater in New York.
