Elton John has wrapped up work on a new studio album titled "Peachtree Road," which should be in stores by November.
According to an announcement on John's website, the album--which was recorded in Atlanta--recently was previewed in London for "record company and promotional people and members of [John's] management team."
Hip-O Records issues "Stand Back: The Anthology," a two-disc set that compiles material from The Allman Brothers Band 's entire 35-year career, on June 8.
The anthology's 32 tracks--at least one song from each of the group's 13 studio albums--have been digitally remastered. The package also includes a 24-page color booklet.
The Neil Young movie "Greendale"--which recently completed a 40-plus city theatrical run--will be released on DVD on June 22. The film is based on characters and scenes from Young's "Greendale" album.
Besides the movie, the DVD will feature a documentary about the making of the film, interviews with Young and the cast, and behind-the-scenes footage.
Also included is a live performance of the album track "Be the Rain."
Patti Scialfa issues "23rd Street Lullaby," her first album of new material since 1993's "Rumble Doll," on June 15, according to Columbia Records.
Each of the 12 tracks on "23rd Street Lullaby" were penned by Scialfa, who co-produced the set with Steve Jordan (Keith Richards, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion).
Scialfa--the wife of Bruce Springsteen--will sign copies of the album at the Tower Records store in New York's Lincoln Center at 6 p.m. on the album's release date.
She's also scheduled to make several television appearances: June 14 on "The Late Show with David Letterman," June 15 on "Today," June 15 on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," June 17 on "The View," June 20 on "CBS News Sunday Morning" and June 21 on "The Early Show."
Tommy Stinson , former bass player for The Replacements and a current member of Guns N' Roses, will release his debut solo album, "Village Gorilla Head," on Aug. 3, according to Sanctuary Records.
Stinson sings and plays most instruments on the album, including drums on one track. Some of his former bandmates help out on some tracks, including Gersh (Bash and Pop, Perfect), David Phillips (Perfect), Dizzy Reed and Richard Fortus (GN'R).
