Briefly: Stevie Wonder, D12, Reverend Horton Heat, Martie Maguire
Stevie Wonder will release his first new studio album since 1995's "Conversation Peace" on June 8, according to Motown Records.
Though the label hasn't revealed any details about the new set beyond the title ("A Time 2 Love"), Wonder does plan to appear on "Good Morning America," "ABC Primetime Live," "The Tonight Show with Lay Leno," "Larry King Live," "CBS Sunday Morning" and "The Ellen Degeneres Show" during its release week.
"D12 World," the second album from Eminem 's side-project D12, sold about 544,000 copies during its first week in stores, enough to knock Usher's "Confessions" from its longtime perch atop the U.S. album chart.
According to Billboard, "Confessons," which spent five weeks at No. 1, slips to No. 2 on the new Billboard 200 chart. Prince's "Musicology" holds steady at No. 3.
Diana Krall's "The Girl in the Other Room" debuts at No. 4, and Mario Winans' "Hurt No More" slips three places to No. 5.
Reverend Horton Heat has signed with the Yep Roc label, and will issue a new album titled "Revival" on June 29.
According to Yep Rock, the group is recording the set at Last Beat Studio in the Deep Ellum section of Dallas. Among the album's tracks is "Someone in Heaven," which frontman Jim Heath wrote in memory of his mother, who died earlier this year.
Martie Maguire of the Dixie Chicks and her husband, Gareth, are the parents of twin girls born on April 27, according to the band's publicist.
