Boston's Fenway Park to host Jimmy Buffett concerts
Jimmy Buffett has beefed up his itinerary, adding to his schedule a pair of performances at Boston's fabled Fenway Park.
The concerts, which are set for Sept. 10 and 12, will mark the first concerts at the baseball stadium since Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band performed there last year. Tickets for both shows will go on sale on May 8, according to Buffett's Margaritaville website.
Buffett is expected to issue a new album titled "Licensed to Chill" this summer; a specific release date hasn't been announced. The album's title track, a duet featuring Buffett and country singer Kenny Chesney, is available in stores and on a CD-ROM that was included with this year's Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.
Buffett's duet with Chesney follows his pairing with country singer Alan Jackson on the Grammy-nominated track "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere," which appears on Jackson's "Greatest Hits 2." In February, the song won the CMA Award for Vocal Event of the Year.
Earlier this year, Buffett issued recordings of his 2003 shows in Boston and Cincinnati. A "Live in Hawaii" CD set will follow, according to Mailboat Records' website.
Buffett is scheduled to appear on NBC-TV's "The Today Show" on June 25.
