Van Halen begins rolling out fall dates for reunion tour

Van Halen , which hits the road this summer with formerly exiled singer Sammy Hagar at the helm, has begun nailing down dates for the outing's fall leg.

Following a first-leg wrap-up at Los Angeles' Staples Center on Aug. 19-20, the reunited quartet--Hagar, guitarist Eddie Van Halen, drummer Alex Van Halen and bassist Michael Anthony--will return to the road in September. A handful of September dates are confirmed so far, and tickets for most of the shows--all of which are set in Florida and Texas--hit the box office on May 8. Details are posted in the itinerary below.

As has been the case with all dates thus far, premium ticket packages will be available via iloveallaccess.com prior to the general on-sale date, as will tickets sold via an AOL pre-sale. Details are posted at the band's website.

Van Halen 's upcoming tour is the group's first outing with Hagar since both parties split on bad terms in 1996. In the interim, the group released 1998's "Van Halen 3," an album that featured former Extreme vocalist Gary Cherone. The set was a commercial disappointment, and Cherone headed for the door in late '99.

Plans for the upcoming tour sprouted in the wake of Hagar's late-2003 reconciliation with the Van Halen brothers; he and Anthony remained friends after the 1996 breakup.

This summer, Van Halen plans to release a best-of set that will include three new songs featuring Hagar. During a recent interview with talk-radio host Howard Stern, Hagar said one of the cuts is titled "It's About Time."

A Warner Bros. spokesperson said that details about the album are still pending.
