Los Lobos take 'The Ride' on the road

April 29, 2004 01:48 PM
Los Lobos is celebrating it's 30th anniversary with a new, guest-filled album titled "The Ride" and--as usual--a busy tour schedule.

The band's itinerary currently stretches into September, and includes a mix of headlining shows and festival appearances.

"The Ride," which is due in stores on Tuesday (5/4), features appearances by well-known artists including Elvis Costello, Tom Waits, Ruben Blades, Mavis Staples, Bobby Womack and Richard Thompson.

Other contributors include Dave Alvin, Mitchell Froom, Garth Hudson, Martha Gonzalez, Quetzal and Willie G.

"We're all very proud of this album," Los Lobos guitarist Louie Perez said in a statement. "It reflects our evolution as musicians who have been playing together for a long time and who have worked to absorb a lot of different musical styles and artistic ideas during a long and enjoyable musical journey. And, it was fun to make music with some good friends."

Besides their busy tour schedule, Los Lobos are scheduled to make a May 4 in-store appearance at Amoeba Records in Los Angeles.
