Crosby, Stills & Nash spend another summer on the road
Veteran folk-rock trio Crosby, Stills & Nash are laying the groundwork for a summer U.S. tour.
The group so far has nailed down a stretch of dates that kick off in Minnesota on July 1 and runs for three weeks. More shows are expected.
The group's summer plans also include an Aug. 10 performance at the Bethlehem Musikfest in Pennsylvania.
Last year, Crosby, Stills & Nash mounted a North American tour that kicked off in late May and ran well into September. Since then, David Crosby has kept busy by touring with his side project, CPR, a group that features his son, James Raymond, and guitarist Jeff Pevar.
In a message posted on CPR's website late last year, Crosby said that a new Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young concert DVD might surface this summer.
At press time, a group spokesperson could not be reached for comment.
CSN's most-recent studio effort, "After the Storm," surfaced in 1994. The threesome began work on a follow-up in 1997, and Neil Young signed on during the recording process, which resulted in 1999's "Looking Forward." That set was the first CSNY release since 1988's "American Dream."
Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash teamed up in 1968 and released their self-titled debut the following year. Young joined the fold during the group's first tour, and the quartet subsequently released the first CSNY album, titled "Déjà Vu," in 1970. They only made it through that year's summer tour before splitting up on bad terms.
Crosby, Stills and Nash re-teamed in 1977, but didn't record a new album with Young until "American Dream."
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young mounted reunions tours in 2001 and 2002. Those outings were the quartet's first since 1974.
