Briefly: Britney Spears, Soul Train Music Awards, J.J. Jackson, The BoDeans

Britney Spears --who postponed two concerts last week after apparently suffering a knee injury during her March 18 performance in Moline, IL--was due to rehearse in Atlanta today (3/22) while wearing a specially fitted knee brace.

After the rehearsal, doctors were to determine if she can perform her scheduled Tuesday night (3/23) concert in the city.

Spears postponed her March 19 concert in Chicago and her March 21 concert in the Detroit area following last week's injury.

OutKast 's "Speakerboxxx/The Love Below" picked up R&B/Soul or Rap Album of the Year award, and the hip-hop duo's video for the single "Hey Ya" won in the R&B/Soul or Rap Music Video category at Saturday's (3/20) Soul Train Music Awards.

The ceremony, which Keys hosted along with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, took place at the International Cultural Center in Los Angeles.

J.J. Jackson--one of the five original MTV veejays who hosted the network when it launched in 1981--died last week in Los Angeles of an apparent heart attack, according to reports. He was 62.

Jackson remained at MTV until 1986. He had most recently worked at Los Angeles radio station KTWV, and reportedly had planned to work with fellow former veejay Mark Goodman on Sirius Satellite Radio.

The BoDeans have signed with the Zoe/Rounder label, and in June will release "Resolution," their first studio album in almost eight years. The band plans to tour in support of the set.
