Tim McGraw saddles up for summer tour that precedes new album
UPDATED 4/7--Tim McGraw and The Dancehall Doctors get back on the road this summer for a tour of U.S. amphitheaters that will also feature Big & Rich and The Warren Brothers .
The outing kicks off in mid-June, and dates stretch into early August.
McGraw plans to donate $1 from each ticket sold through his website to the charities Swampstock and Gridiron Heroes Spinal Cord Injury Organization; McGraw and actor/part-time musician Billy Bob Thornton are due to perform in Austin, TX, on April 10, during a concert that will also benefit Gridiron Heroes, according to a press release.
Though his new album, which is not yet titled, isn't due out until Aug. 31, fans can expect to hear some new material during the upcoming tour.
"I'm excited to get back on the road with the band and share some of the new album music I've been working on for the fans," McGraw said in a statement.
The forthcoming album is the follow-up to McGraw's multi-platinum, 2002's "Tim McGraw and The Dancehall Doctors."
