Nelly gets 'Derrty' in the clubs this spring, readies new album

Nelly plans to drop a new album this summer, but he'll first hit the U.S. club circuit for a spring road trip.

The St. Louis rapper is due to launch a string of dates in early April, and shows so far are booked through the end of that month. Ticket on-sale information was not available at press time.

Nelly's latest release is his November release, "Da Derrty Versions: The Reinvention," a remix set that features new versions of material originally housed on 2000's "Country Grammar" and 2002's "Nellyville."

Meanwhile, work is underway on the bona-fide follow-up to "Nellyville."

"I have an album that I'm working on right now," Nelly said in a recent statement posted on his website. "It should be out in June. I haven't settled on a title yet, but it will be out in June. I've been consistent on coming out in June for the last couple of years, so I want to continue that tradition, so it should be good."

A summer tour will follow, according to the site.

In other Nelly-related news, the Murphy Lee track "Shake Ya Tailfeather"--which features Nelly and P. Diddy--won the Grammy for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group at last month's Grammy Awards ceremony.
