Dates begin to surface for Bonnie Raitt's upcoming tour

Bonnie Raitt has begun stringing together the itinerary for a 2004 spring/summer tour that kicks off next month.

So far, Raitt has plotted a half-dozen April shows and a trio of June dates. The run is currently scheduled to begin in Orlando on April 16.

Included in Raitt's plans is an April 22 performance at the Fairmont Hotel in New Orleans, a charity event that is part of the 35th Annual New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. Details are posted at the festival's website.

Raitt is hitting the road in support of last September's "The Best of Bonnie Raitt," an 18-track set featuring cuts that first appeared on Raitt's Capitol Records releases from 1989 to 2003; prior to that, she was signed to Warner Bros.

Raitt's most recent studio release is 2002's "Silver Lining."
