Sacramento, CA-based alt-rockers Cake [ tickets ] are currently recording their as-yet untitled fifth album, but the group so far is mum on further details.

The new set should be in stores in July or August, according to the band's website.

Cake will perform at the Austin Music Hall on March 18, during the South by Southwest Music Conference in Texas. The band has previewed many new songs in recent months during unadvertised appearances at small venues.

Chuck Berry [ tickets ]'s 1957 debut album, "After School Session," will be reissued on March 23 in honor of the 50th anniversary of rock and roll, according to Geffen/UME.

The album--which features the hits "School Day (Ring Ring Goes the Bell)" and "Brown Eyed Handsome Man," among others--has been expanded to include three songs that first appeared on the 1956 soundtrack to "Rock, Rock, Rock": "Thirty Days (To Come Back Home)," "You Can't Catch Me" and "Maybellene."

"Hootie and the Blowfish (1993-2003)," a 17-track best-of package from the South Carolina-based group, is scheduled to hit stores on March 2. Besides many the group's well-known songs, the album includes the band's renditions of Led Zeppelin's "Hey Hey What Can I Do" and Bill Withers' "Use Me."

A panel of three arbitrators have decided in favor of Barry Manilow [ tickets ] and Bruce Sussman in a proceeding to determine who owns the rights to the musical play "Harmony," which was written by Manilow and Sussman.

According to a press release issued by Manilow's camp, "The arbitration panel unanimously and unequivocally ruled that the rights of the former producer of the play, Snorkel Productions, Inc., have terminated; that Snorkel is to return to Manilow and Sussman all literary materials relating to 'Harmony'; and that Snorkel is to immediately cease acting as producer for 'Harmony' or dealing with 'Harmony' in any manner."

In a statement, Manilow's publicist said: "The authors couldn't be reached for comment. They're out getting drunk."
