Something Corporate gets down to business during spring tour
Currently busy with various radio-station appearances, Something Corporate gets back on the stage with a spring tour that will also feature Yellowcard.
The group's itinerary includes a handful of college-campus performances this month, followed by a mix of headlining shows and co-headlining dates with Yellowcard. Details appear in the itinerary below.
Something Corporate is backing its sophomore release, last fall's "North." The set debuted at No. 22 on The Billboard 200 album chart, and has sold more than 250,000 copies, according to the band's website.
Singer/pianist Andrew McMahon wrote most of the material on "North," and guitarist Josh Partington also penned several numbers. McMahon did much of his writing during the band's 2002 tour, according to a press release, but the material doesn't necessarily deal with life on the road.
"It's not so much about the road as it is about being away," McMahon said in statement. "It's a little more poignant and assertive than the last album."
On March 15, the album's second single, "Ruthless" hits radio stations. "Space," the album's first single, helped spur sales after its video debuted on the Fox-TV series "The O.C."; the cut also turned up in the Feb. 13 episode of CBS' "JAG."
"North" is the follow-up to Something Corporate's 2002 debut, "Leaving Through the Window," which has sold more than 250,000 copies. The set features the tracks "If You C Jordan" and "I Woke Up In a Car."
Yellowcard issued its second album, "Ocean Avenue," last July.
