Dido crosses the pond for tour behind 'Life for Rent'
British singer Dido packs her bags for a spring North American tour that supports last fall's "Life for Rent."
The outing begins in mid-May, and is scheduled to run for about a month. Dates for a number of shows are on sale now, and members of Dido's fan club have access to tickets not available to the general public, according to her website.
Released last September, "Life for Rent" is the follow-up to Dido's multi-million-selling, 1999 debut, "No Angel." Four of the new album's 11 tracks are streaming at Dido's website.
"The title, and the song from which it's taken, represents how I feel about my life right now, and how I want to live it in the future," Dido said in a statement. "It's about not being afraid to take chances, or to live life to the full. It's so easy to slip into complacency, or to disengage from the world. This album works as a constant reminder to myself not to do that."
Included on "Life for Rent" is the lead-off cut "White Flag," which last night (2/18) won the fan-voted Brit Award for Best British Single; Dido also won the award for Best Female Solo Artist.
