KISS tribute album due in stores this spring

Former KISS members Bruce Kulick and Eric Singer, along with '80s-era rock vocalists Dee Snider, Mark Slaughter and Kip Winger, are among the artists who turn up on a forthcoming tribute to rock icons KISS.

Also featured on the set are singers Tommy Shaw of Styx, Lemmy Kilmeister of Motorhead, Buzz Osborne of The Melvins, Page Hamilton of Helmet, Doug Pinnick of King's X, Phil Lewis of L.A. Guns, Robin McAuley of the McAuley-Shencker Group and WWE wrestler Chris Jericho, who also moonlights in the band Fozzy.

Rounding out the recording lineup are various members of Styx, King's X, Helmet, The Melvins, Motorhead, Dokken, Whitesnake, Twisted Sister, Poison, Journey and other groups.

Titled "Spin the Bottle," the set is due out on KOCH Records on April 27, and features covers of 11 KISS cuts, including "Detroit Rock City," "Love Gun," "Cold Gin," "God of Thunder" and "I Want You."

The album's initial run will include a limited-edition bonus DVD featuring a 40-minute documentary of the making of the record. It contains performances, session footage and interviews with Jericho, drummer Doug Aldrich, Shaw, guitarist Steve Lukather, Kulick, drummer Carmine Appice, drummer Jeff Pilson, guitarist C.C. DeVille, drummer Greg Bissonette, Winger, Slaughter, Kilmeister, and Kulick's brother, Bob Kulick, who produced the set.

KISS released its self-titled debut in 1974. The group--which currently features original members Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and Peter Criss, along with Tommy Thayer, who is filling the role of original guitarist Ace Frehley--toured the U.S. with Aerosmith last year.
