Briefly: Alanis Morissette, Prince, George Jones, Ruben Studdard, The Beach Boys
The release date of Alanis Morissette 's new album, "So-Called Chaos," has been pushed back a month to May 18, according to her publicist.
The later release date "accommodates changes in the worldwide marketing plan for the album, which was completed in late 2003," a press release said.
The album's first single, "Everything," will go to radio on March 23.
Prince and his NPG band played a three-plus hour, late night set at the House of Blues in West Hollywood, CA, after Sunday's (2/8) Grammy ceremony, according to his publicist. Among the new songs he played were "12:01" and "Footprints," a reworked cover of a Miles Davis classic.
Some of the earliest live recordings of country great George Jones --recorded in the '50s and early '60s--have been compiled for a live album titled "George Jones: Live Recordings from the Louisiana Hayride on Scena Records." The set hits stores on March 9.
"American Idol" winner Ruben Studdard will perform his single "Superstar" and The Beach Boys will perform a medley of their hits during Saturday's (2/14) NBA All-Star Saturday Night at Staples Center in Los Angeles. R&B singer Tamia will sing the Canadian anthem prior to the All-Star Game, and Anne Marie Boscovich will perform "God Bless America."
