Briefly: Godsmack, Coachella, Diana Ross, Judas Priest

Heavy-metal quartet Godsmack issues its first-ever acoustic album on March 18.

The set features unplugged renditions of previously released cuts, as well as three brand-new tracks, according to a press release.

"We've always wanted to make a record like this," frontman Sully Erna said in a statement. "It gives us a chance to spread our wings a little bit and offer the fans something different. I think they'll be pleasantly surprised by it."

Erna produced the set, while David Bottrill--who produced the group's most-recent album, last year's "Faceless"--handled mixing duties.

Diana Ross was convicted on Monday (2/9) of driving under the influence and was ordered to serve a two-day jail term, as well as one year of unsupervised probation, according to reports.

The conviction stems from a December 2002 incident during which Tucson, AZ, police arrested Ross after another motorist reported seeing her car traveling southbound in a northbound lane. A Breathalyzer test showed that her blood-alcohol concentration was .20; the state's legal limit is .08.
