Modest Mouse plots club tour to tout new material
Seattle-based alt-rockers Modest Mouse pave the way for the release of their new album with a club tour that focuses on Florida, Texas and the West Coast.
The outing opens on Feb. 10 in Tampa, and dates so far run through early April.
On April 6, Modest Mouse issues "Good News for People Who Love Bad News," its first album of new material since 2000's critically hailed "The Moon & Antarctica." The new album was produced by Dennis Herring (Camper Van Beethoven, Throwing Muses), and one of its 16 tracks features the Dirty Dozen Brass Band.
"Good News" is the first album to feature new Modest Mouse drummer Benjamin Weikel (The Helio Sequence), whom the group recruited last year to replace departed drummer Jeremiah Green.
A limited-edition, 7-inch single of the album track "Float On" (which features the non-LP track "I've Got It All (Most)" on the flip side) hits stores later this month, according to Epic Records.
Meanwhile, a remastered and expanded version of "The Moon & Antarctica" will hit stores on March 9. The set, which includes all-new artwork, will feature four bonus tracks taken from a 1999 BBC session.
