House of Blues Sunset Strip hosts Elvis Costello, Steve Wonder, more for benefits
Elvis Costello , Dashboard Confessional, Stevie Wonder , The Strokes , Jewel and Counting Crows are set to play benefit concerts at the House of Blues in West Hollywood, CA, in the days leading up to the GRAMMY awards.
Proceeds from the four shows will benefit the VH1 Save the Music organization, which aims to restore music-education programs in public schools. The shows are backed by American Express, which plans to raise $1 million for Save the Music's efforts to purchase new musical instruments and other music-education endeavors.
Costello and Dashboard Confessional will kick off the concert series--dubbed Blues Jam Sessions--on Feb 5. The Strokes will perform the following day.
Stevie Wonder will perform at the venue on Feb. 6, and Counting Crows and Jewel will share a bill on Feb. 7.
All shows have sold out, according to House of Blues.
The 46th Annual GRAMMY® Awards take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Feb. 8, and will air live on CBS.
