Third Day plots more road work behind its 'Offerings'
GRAMMY-winning rockers Third Day continue to support last year's "Offerings II" with a spring tour of the U.S.
The Southern-based Christian-rock outfit kicks off the outing in early April, and dates are set through the end of May. So far, the itinerary focuses on the South and West.
The group is backing "Offerings II: All I Have to Give," which surfaced last March. The album--which features six live tracks and six studio cuts--is nominated for a GRAMMY® award in the Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album category; the winner will be named at the Feb. 8 GRAMMY Awards ceremony, which is scheduled to air live on CBS.
A win would mark the group's second GRAMMY trophy; in 2002, the band picked up the Best Rock Gospel Album award for the 2001 set "Come Together."
Last month, "Offerings II" achieved gold status, which signifies U.S. shipment of 500,000 copies.
"We're very excited about 'Offerings II' attaining gold status," bassist Tai Anderson said in a statement. "We've been blown away by the success of the Offerings series, which was a direct request from our fans. These projects have been a huge part of the growth of Third Day over the last few years."
Third Day released "Offerings: A Worship Album" in July of 2000.
