Cheap Trick frontman Robin Zander and guitarist Rick Nielsen performed Monday (8/9) at the premiere of the Kiss-themed movie "Detroit Rock City," accompanied by Everclear. The co-mingled group performed the Trick song "Surrender" prior to Kiss taking the stage for a brief set.

Cheap Trick has also recorded a new theme song for the Fox TV series ''That 70's Show,'' and will film a video for the song with a number of the cast members. According to the band's official website, the song is set for release on September 28th, the day of their 25th anniversary concert in Rockford, IL.

Prior to the show, the band will take part in a three-day fan convention to be held in Merrillville, IN.

A late summer round of tour dates with Guided By Voices will precede a Japanese tour for the group. The tour activity supports their recent self-released live album, Music For Hangovers.

Fall and winter tour plans are still being hammered out, though the band is already set for New Year's Eve with a, Orlando, Fl show at Disney MGM Studios.
