Briefly: Sheryl Crow, Green Day, The Beatles, The Supremes, Al Green
"C'mon America 2003," a just-released Sheryl Crow concert-film DVD, will be shown at select Regal Entertainment group movie theaters across the U.S. on Jan. 13.
Among the 25 cities where the film will play are New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Washington, DC. A full list of theaters showing the movie is available at Regal's website.
Green Day 's Billie Joe Armstrong, in an audio message posted on his band's official website, said that Green Day is currently finishing its follow-up to 2000's "Warning." No release date has been announced. He also said that the band is reissuing its 1990 album, "39/Smooth."
Motown is set to issue a 24-track best-of set from Diana Ross and the Supremes titled "The No. 1s" on Feb. 5. Producer Harry Weineger remastered the songs from their original master tapes.
The album includes 11 No. 1 tracks by The Supremes , four from when the group was known as Diana Ross and the Supremes, and eight Ross solo tracks.
A new DVD titled "The Beatles First U.S. Visit" is expected to hit stores in February to mark the 40th anniversary of the group's arrival in America. It will include The Beatles' three "Ed Sullivan Show" performances, as well as footage from their first U.S. concert, at Washington, DC's Washington Coliseum.
The Rev. Al Green , Sandi Patty and the late Vestal Goodman will be inducted into the Gospel Music Association's Gospel Music Hall of Fame on Feb. 11, along with Frances Preston of performing rights organization BMI.
The event takes place at Trinity Music City in Hendersonville, TN, and will be taped for a future one-hour special on the TBN-TV.
