Britney Spears fills in the blanks on upcoming tour plans
Britney Spears --officially single again after the recent annulment of her quickie marriage in Las Vegas--has firmed up the remaining plans for her upcoming March/April tour of North America.
Tickets already hit the market in December for most of Spears' planned shows, and on-sales for the remaining dates have now been unveiled. Details are in the itinerary below.
Spears kicks off the tour--which she's dubbed the Onyx Hotel Tour--on March 2 in San Diego. It supports her new album, "In the Zone."
"I'm especially looking forward to bringing my tour to new markets and performing in front of fans that may not have had the opportunity to see any of my previous tours," Spears said in a statement.
Spears, who celebrated her 22nd birthday in December, last toured in 2002. The North American leg of that jaunt grossed more than $30 million, according to concert-industry magazine Pollstar.
Released on Nov. 18, "In the Zone" sold 609,000 copies during its first week in stores, and debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart. The set marks Spears' fourth consecutive No. 1 album.
Spears recently made news when she married childhood friend Jason Allen Alexander in Las Vegas. Within a day, Spears' camp explained that she and Alexander "took a joke to far by getting married," and had filed for an annulment, which has since been granted.
