Briefly: Bobby Hatfield, Alex Lifeson, Beyonce Knowles, Frank Black
An autopsy of Bobby Hatfield of The Righteous Brothers found that the singer died of "acute cocaine toxicity," Michigan's Kalamazoo County Medical Examiner said in a report issued on Monday (1/5).
Hatfield's body was discovered in bed in a Kalamazoo Hotel on Nov. 5. It was initially thought that he died in his sleep of a heart attack.
Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson, his son and his son's wife were arrested following a New Year's Eve brawl at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Naples, FL.
According to published reports, Lifeson--whose real name is Alex Zivojinovich--is accused of spitting blood in a deputy's face and pushing an officer down a stairwell. The incident reportedly began when Lifeson's son jumped onto a stage where a house band was performing and refused to leave.
R&B star Beyonce Knowles will sing the National Anthem prior to Super Bowl XXXVII, set for Feb. 1 in Houston.
Ex-Pixie Frank Black will keynote the fourth annual DIY Convention: Do It Yourself in Film, Music & Books. The event takes place Feb. 5-7 at Barnsdall Art Park and The Derby in Los Angeles; more information is available at the convention's website.
