Kid Rock maps out tour to support new album
After laying low for most of 2003, Kid Rock comes out swinging in the New Year with a U.S. arena tour that backs his recently released album.
The Detroit-based rapper/singer/multi-instrumentalist plans to launch the run on Jan. 22 with a two-night stand in Saginaw, MI. Dates so far stretch into mid-February, and focus primarily on the Midwest and South. More shows are expected.
Premier-level members of Rock's official fan club get first crack at tickets via online pre-sales, according to his website.
Rock's latest album surfaced last month, and features his cover of Bad Company's "Feel Like Makin' Love." The song's music video is streaming at his website.
Rock performed the song at last month's America Music Awards, at which he picked up a win in the Best Male Pop or Rock Artist category.
"Kid Rock" is the follow-up to 2001's "Cocky." Backing him on the new set is his longtime band, Twisted Brown Trucker, which features guitarists Kenny Olson and Jason Krause, keyboardist Jimmie Bones and drummer Stefanie Eulinberg.
Guest musicians who turn up on the album include Kenny Wayne Shepherd, David McMurray, ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons, Hank Williams Jr. and Sheryl Crow.
