3 Doors Down pump up early 2004 tour plans

After keeping a light schedule during December, 3 Doors Down cranks things back up in January for a new round of U.S. arena shows.

The group has only a few shows left this year, including a performance at New York City's Madison Square Garden on Dec. 11 as part of radio station Z-100's Jingle Ball festival, and a New Year's Eve show in Columbus, GA.

Following the New Year's Eve performance, the group will barely have time to catch its breath before launching the new string of shows on Jan. 2. Dates so far stretch almost through the end of the month; the itinerary focuses on the eastern half of the U.S.

Shinedown and Tantric open on all of the band's currently scheduled headlining dates.

Fans who register for free at the band's ticketing website will have a shot at tickets before the general public via online pre-sales.

On Thursday, pre-sales begin for shows in Moline, IL; Green Bay, WI; Charleston, WV; Lexington, KY; Boston; Manchester, NH; Wilkes-Barre, PA; and Chattanooga, TN. Additional details are posted in the tour section of the band's website.

3 Doors Down is supporting its 2002 set, "Away from the Sun," which debuted at No. 8 on The Billboard 200 album chart. The album features the group's latest hit, "Here Without You."
