Britney Spears gets 'In the Zone' with North American tour plans
Britney Spears has unveiled dates and cities for her North American tour in support of her new album, "In the Zone."
The run is scheduled to kick off in San Diego on March 2, and the itinerary currently stretches into mid-April. Most shows are set in major U.S. markets, though the itinerary also includes a pair of Canadian dates and stops in a few markets where Spears has not previously performed, according to organizers. Venues have not yet been confirmed.
"It's always special to be able to go on the road and give something back," Spears said in a statement. "I'm especially looking forward to bringing my tour to new markets and performing in front of fans that may not have had the opportunity to see any of my previous tours."
Tickets for shows in "select markets" will hit the box office on Dec. 13, according to a press release; the release did not specify which shows will go on sale on that date, and advised fans to "check local listings for venues, on sales, dates and times."
Members of Spears' official fan club will have access to ticket pre-sales that will begin next week, according to Spears' website. The pre-sale schedule will be announced "soon," according to the site.
Released on Nov. 18, "In the Zone" sold 609,000 copies during its first week in stores, and debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart. The set marks Spears' fourth consecutive No. 1 album.
