Briefly: Celine Dion, The Rolling Stones, Sarah McLachlan, Andrea Bocelli
Celine Dion has canceled her Wednesday (12/3) and Thursday (12/4) appearances at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas so that she can attend her father's funeral.
According to the Canadian Press, her father, Adhemar Dion, died at his Quebec home on Sunday, but Dion performed her Sunday night (11/30) show as scheduled. Celine was the youngest of his 14 children.
The Rolling Stones ' "Licks" world tour, which ran from September 2002 through October 2003, grossed almost $320 million and played to more than 3.4 million fans, Billboard Bulletin reported. The only tour to have grossed more was the Stones' 1994-95 "Voodoo Lounge" tour, which took in $320 million, according to Billboard.
"Remixed," a collection of remixed versions of nine recordings that Sarah McLachlan originally released between 1992 and 1997, is set for release on Dec. 16.
Among the remixers employed for the project were William Orbit ("Black"), BT ("Hold On"), Dusted ("Angel") and DJ Tiesto ("Sweet Surrender").
Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli is scheduled to make his first-ever performance in China on Wednesday night (12/3) at Shanghai's Grand Theater. He will be accompanied by the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra.
