Warped Tour's 10th edition to feature New Found Glory, Taking Back Sunday

Early confirmations for the bill of the 10th annual Vans Warped tour--set to launch on June 25 in Houston--include New Found Glory , Taking Back Sunday , and Coheed and Cambria .

According to a press release, more acts will be named in the coming months. The full itinerary hasn't been released.

"We're looking at 2004 as an opportunity for the Warped Tour to do things we've done well better and to also implement a lot of new things," tour founder Kevin Lyman said in a statement. "We want to incorporate more people into the lifestyle to help keep our scene strong."

Among the plans for 2004 are the expansion of the tour's Take Action "social consciousness area" and the Reverse Day Care parents tent, which organizers say was "overflowing with parents in 2003."

The 2004 tour will culminate with a 10-year reunion show on Aug. 20 in Boston.

"We've invited many bands from past tours to perform," Lyman said. "We've had a lot of interest and will have confirmations in the coming months,"

One band on the 2004 bill will be determined at the Monster Energy/Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands 7, set for Dec. 10 at the Key Club in West Hollywood, CA. Straight Outta Junior High, The Tossers, Monty's Fan Club and Much the Same will compete for the slot.

The inaugural Warped Tour Japan will debut in Tokyo in January. Thursday, The Vandals, Bouncing Souls, Slick Shoes, Audio Karate, Useless I.D. and Poison the Well are among the bands scheduled to play.

An April 2004 release date is slated for the "Warped 2003" DVD, which features live performances, interviews and behind-the scenes footage from this year's Warped tour.
