Creed readies new anthology, solo projects
Florida rock outfit Creed , which was off the radar for most of 2003, jumps back into the spotlight next year with a number of new works.
The group, whose most-recent studio set is 2002's "Weathered," is putting together an anthology set that will feature some of the band's hits, previously unreleased material, and new compositions, which it plans to record next year, according to a press release.
Additionally, Creed frontman Scott Stapp and guitarist Mark Tremonti are working on solo projects that they plan to release in 2004.
No specific release dates for any of the aforementioned projects have been announced. Fans shouldn't expect to see anything too soon, however, as the press release indicates that the street date for the Creed anthology will be sometime "before the end of 2004," while Stapp's and Tremonti's projects are dog-eared for release "in the next year."
Creed has released three original albums to date on Wind-Up Records: "My Own Prison," "Human Clay" and "Weathered." All have been certified multi-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, and have sold a combined total of 23 million copies in the U.S., according to Wind-Up.
"Human Clay," which spawned the hits "With Arms Wide Open" and "Higher," holds the further distinction of the RIAA's diamond award, signifying U.S. shipment of 10 million copies.
