Nickelback starts the New Year with Canadian tour
Canadian rockers Nickelback follow the holiday season with a month-long tour of their native country.
The group launches the run on Jan. 19, and is scheduled to crisscross the Great White North until Feb. 23. Tickets for several shows are on sale now via Ticketmaster Canada's website. (Ticketmaster is liveDaily's parent company.)
The band, which just finished up a round of U.S. dates, is touring behind its September release, "The Long Road." During the U.S. outing, the group's live set ran about 90 minutes, and included seven songs found on the new album; the stage production featured a new light show, set, and "more pyro than ever," according to information posted at the group's website.
"The Long Road" features Nickelback's latest single, "Someday." The band plans to release the cut "Figured You Out" next.
The new album is the follow-up to Nickelback's multi-platinum sophomore effort, "Silver Side Up," which spawned the No. 1 rock hits "Too Bad," "Never Again" and "How You Remind Me."
Roadrunner Records' limited-edition, first pressing of "The Long Road" features exclusive band photos and three bonus tracks, including Nickelback's version of Elton John's "Saturday Night's Alright (for Fighting)."
