Fiona Apple Bails At Roseland, Tour Will Go On As Scheduled
Though Fiona Apple 's Feb. 29 performance at New York's Roseland Ballroom--at which a crying Apple and her band left the stage after 40-odd minutes because of sound and monitor problems--has caused concern about the future of her current club tour, the tour will continue as planned, according to her publicist.
Promoters said that there were no guarantees that the New York show would be rescheduled, although they were trying. A representative from the ballroom said that there were plenty of dates available. Ticket-holders should hold on to their stubs, advised Jim Steen of show promoter Delsener/Slater, who added that no decision had been made about issuing refunds.
Shows scheduled this week in Albany, NY, Upper Darby, PA and Washington, D.C. have not been canceled, venue representatives said.
April tour dates were recently added in New Orleans, Memphis and Birmingham.
Singer/songwriter Apple has had problems with sound mixes in the past, sometimes complaining and swearing to audiences about her voice, band or piano.
