Seasoned alt-rockers The Red Hot Chili Peppers [ tickets ] are set to raise money for two charities by playing a Nov. 15 concert at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.

System of a Down, Mike Watt [ tickets ] and other special guests are also to perform at the show, proceeds from which will benefit the Warschaw Center for Prostate Cancer Research and the Silverlake Conservatory of Music.

According to Warner Bros. Records, tickets will be priced at $55.00 for floor seats and $85.00 for balcony seats, and will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Thursday (11/13) at Ticketmaster outlets and at Ticketmaster.com. (Ticketmaster is liveDaily's parent company.)

A limited number of tickets will be sold via an auction at Ticketmaster's website. The auction begins on Tuesday (11/11) and runs through Wednesday (11/12). Bidding will begin at $110 per ticket, and progress in $10 increments, according to Warner Bros.

The Silverlake Conservatory of Music is a nonprofit music school founded by Chili Peppers' bassist Flea in 2001. The school offers one-on-one instruction in the fundamentals of music on any instrument. It currently has 25 teachers and 400 enrolled students; more information is available at the organization's website.

The Louis Warschaw Prostate Cancer Center, located at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, specializes in the research and treatment of prostate cancer. More information is available at the center's website.

On Nov. 18, The Red Hot Chili Peppers will release "Greatest Hits," an album that features 14 of the best-known tracks from the group's 20-year career and two new tracks, "Fortune Faded" and "History."

The Chili Peppers have been touring the U.S. for much of the year behind their 2002 album, "By the Way." The tour's fourth leg wrapped up late last month.

System of a Down is holed up in a Los Angeles rehearsal space, writing and rehearsing material for a new album, according to the group's publicist. The band, which hadn't written songs together for more than two years, is expected to release a new album by the end of 2004.

Mike Watt--who, as a member of the Minutemen, was a key figure in the '80s post-punk movement--hasn't issued a new set since 1997's "Contemplating the Engine Room." He is expected to release a new album titled "The Secondman's Middle Stand" soon, but no street date has been announced.
