Briefly: Eric Clapton, OutKast, Nick Lachey, The Rolling Stones, Britney Spears
Eric Clapton is set to open a month of Japanese dates on Nov. 15 in Hiroshima. He'll also visit Osaka, Saitama, Yokohama, Tokyo, Sendai and Sapporo.
Clapton has also scheduled a month-long European tour that gets underway on April 11. No word yet on possible U.S. tour plans.
After dropping as low as No. 4 on The Billboard 200 album chart, OutKast 's two-CD set "Speakerboxxx/The Love Below" reclaims the No. 1 spot this week.
According to industry sources, the rap duo's two-CD set sold more than 140,000 copies during its most-recent week in stores, and has sold about 1.4 million copies to date.
Rod Stewart's "As Time Goes By: The Great American Songbook Part II" holds steady at No. 2, while Clay Aiken's "Measure of a Man" drops from No. 1 to No. 3. The Strokes' "Room on Fire" debuts at No. 4, and Ludacris' "Chicken & Beer" rounds out the Top 5.
Nick Lachey 's debut solo album, dubbed "SoulO," is scheduled to hit stores on Nov. 11. Lachey is a member of 98 Degrees, and co-stars with his wife, Jessica Simpson, on MTV's reality show "The Newlyweds."
Many record retailers reportedly have removed The Rolling Stones ' music from their shelves, protesting the band's decision to make its new four-disc DVD set, "Forty Flicks," available exclusively at Best Buy stores.
Britney Spears won't appear as scheduled at Thursday's (11/6) MTV Europe Awards show in Scotland. She reportedly has the flu.
