Hatebreed backs new album by helming Jailhouse Rock 3 tour
Death-metal quartet Hatebreed , which currently holds down the opening slot on Slayer 's fall headlining tour, follows that run by heading up the multi-act Jailhouse Rock 3 tour.
The outing--which will also feature Agnostic Front , Unseen and Ringworm --kicks off in Arizona on Nov. 30, and dates are set through mid-December. Hatebreed also has a couple of headlining shows of its own tucked into its schedule with Slayer. Details appear in the itineraries below.
Connecticut-based Hatebreed is backing its third studio set, "The Rise of Brutality." The album features the cut "This Is Now," the music-video for which recently debuted on MTV2.
Streaming versions of "This Is Now," "Live for This" and "Doomsayer" are posted at the album's official website
Frontman Jamey Jasta said in a statement that his vocal delivery on "The Rise of Brutality" differs from that on the band's previous works.
"The vocals are a little bit lower and the approach a little bit more in your face and maniacal," he said. "I also tried to enunciate more."
Jasta went on to say that the new album is more well-rounded than its 2002 predecessor, "Perseverance."
"We wanted to make this one a little more brutal than 'Perseverance' but at the same time catchier," he said. "It's a good balance."
