Dave Matthews links up with Trey Anastasio, others for winter tour

Dave Matthews [ tickets ], who recently issued his first solo album, heads out this winter on a tour dubbed "An Acoustic and Electric Evening with Dave Matthews and Friends."

Joining Matthews on the outing are Trey Anastasio [ tickets ], Brady Blade, Tony Hall, Ray Paczkowski [ tickets ] and Tim Reynolds [ tickets ]. The show will also feature special guest Emmylou Harris [ tickets ] and Spyboy

The run is scheduled to kick off on Dec. 12, and tickets for the opening date hit the box office on Nov. 8; tickets for all of the other confirmed dates go on sale on Nov. 1.

Late last month, Matthews released "Some Devil," his first solo set. Anastasio, Hall and Blade all appear on the album. Audio samples of the set's 14 tracks are posted at Dave Matthews Band's website.

The first pressing of "Some Devil" is bundled with a bonus CD that includes five previously unreleased tracks that Matthews recorded live during his 2003 tour with frequent collaborator Tim Reynolds.
