Ani DiFranco adds more fall dates, looks to 2004

Ani DiFranco stretches her fall tour into late November with a new batch of shows, and begins mapping her concert plans for next year.

DiFranco's fall run kicks off on Oct. 8 in Nashville, and is so far scheduled to run non-stop until Nov. 25. Unless more new dates surface, she'll then take a break before strapping her guitar back on for a round of shows that kicks off in mid-January.

Tickets for all but one of DiFranco's currently scheduled 2003 shows are on sale now; her Nov. 11 stop in Portland, ME, hits the box office on Friday (10/3). Detailed ticket info is posted at Righteous Babe Records' website.

Hamell on Trial, one of the latest artists signed to DiFranco's Righteous Babe Records, opens all of DiFranco's October shows, according to the label. "Tough Love," Hamell on Trial's first release for Righteous Babe, surfaced in August.

DiFranco--who, on average, releases one album per year while juggling a full tour schedule--is supporting her latest set, "Evolve," which she released in March. She recorded the 12-track collection with her five-piece band: Julie Wolf (keyboards); Hans Teuber (flute, reeds); Jason Mercer (bass); Daren Hahn (drums); and Todd Horton, Ravi Best and Shane Endsley (horns).

Live versions of two "Evolve" cuts--"Shrug" and "Welcome To"--first turned up on DiFranco's 2002 live set, "So Much Shouting, So Much Laughter."

The entrepreneurial singer-songwriter continues to issue all of her music via Righteous Babe, which she founded in 1990.
