Eminem Sued By Mother Over Interview Allegations

The mother of Eminem has slapped her son with a lawsuit challenging the tales of a rough childhood that the rapper has detailed in various interviews. The suit reportedly claims Eminem falsely implied that when he was young, his mother was unstable, prone to filing lawsuits, and a drug user who drifted aimlessly.

In the suit, which was filed Friday (9/17) in Macomb County Circuit Court in Michigan, Debbie Mathers-Briggs seeks damages of more than $10 million, according to AP reports. The lawsuit alleges that the false statements have caused her physical and psychological injury and damages.

The suit reportedly cites statements attributed to Eminem (whose real name is Bruce Mathers III) in interviews published this year by Rolling Stone, Rap Pages, and The Source, and broadcast on Howard Stern's radio show.

Eminem's Dr. Dre-produced debut album, ''The Slim Shady LP,'' has reportedly sold more than two million copies worldwide, and the single ''My Name Is'' went to the top of MTV's music video chart.

The rapper will embark on a European tour in late October.
