Briefly: Bruce Springsteen, Marilyn Manson, Alan Jackson, Jimmy Buffett, Chumbawamba
A "third and final" night has been added to Bruce Springsteen 's tour-ending run at New York's Shea Stadium, according to a press release.
The new show--the tour's 120th--takes place on Oct. 4; tickets hit the market on Wednesday (9/10) at 10 a.m. Eastern Time.
A jury on Monday (9/9) ruled against a security guard who filed battery charges against Marilyn Manson following an incident at 2001 concert.
During the concert, Manson allegedly pulled the guard's head toward his crotch and gyrated against him. Manson didn't deny the charge, but argued that the incident didn't amount to battery.
"The path to truth is obscured by frivolous lawsuits, but it's lit by the objectivity of a jury that sees the difference between entertainment and assault," Manson said in a statement. "I feel completely vindicated and I'd like to thank the jury and judge for their thoughtful verdict."
Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett will be among the performers at the 37th annual Country Music Association Awards, which take place on Nov. 5.
According to a press release, the duo will open the ceremony with their duet "It's Five O'clock Somewhere."
Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne and producer Dave Fridmann have remixed the six-year-old Chumbawamba hit "Tubthumping." The new version of the track will appear on the forthcoming Chumbawamba album "Readymades and Then Some," due on Oct. 21.
