Something Corporate heads up tour with Rx Bandits, others

Something Corporate spends much of the early fall opening for Good Charlotte, but the pop-punk group gets top billing during an outing that kicks off in late October.

Following the month-long run with Good Charlotte--which kicks off in mid-September--Something Corporate enlists Rx Bandits, Mae and Format for a string of shows that stretches from Oct. 28 until Nov. 6. Days Away takes over for Format from Nov. 8 until at least Nov. 26, according to Something Corporate's website.

Something Corporate's fall outing will help launch "North," the follow-up to the band's 2002 debut, "Leaving Through the Window." Though a specific release date hasn't been revealed, the group's label announced earlier this summer that the album would surface sometime in October.

Singer/pianist Andrew McMahon wrote most of the cuts on the forthcoming album, while guitarist Josh Partington also penned several numbers. McMahon did much of his writing during the band's 2002 tour, according to a press release, but the material doesn't necessarily deal with life on the road.

"It's not so much about the road as it is about being away," McMahon said in statement. "It's a little more poignant and assertive than the last album."

"Leaving Through the Window" sold more than 250,000 copies, according to Drive-Thru/MCA Records. The set spawned the singles "If You C Jordan" and "I Woke Up In a Car."
