Lyle Lovett suits up for album release and U.S. tour
Days after the late-September release of his latest album, country crooner Lyle Lovett launches a new round of headlining tour dates.
Lovett's outing gets underway in early October, and follows the Sept. 30 release of "My Baby Don't Tolerate." The set, which is Lovett's inaugural effort for Lost Highway Records, is his first collection of original solo material since 1996's "The Road to Ensenada."
The complete tracklist for the 14-song set is posted at Lost Highway's website.
"My Baby Don't Tolerate" follows Lovett's February release, "Smile," a collection of 12 songs that he recorded for various movie soundtracks during the past decade.
Lovett's film-related work also includes his 2000 original score for the Robert Altman-directed film "Dr. T & the Women." Lovett composed and produced the set's 13 instrumental tracks, and also contributed previously unreleased versions of his songs "You've Been So Good Up to Now" and "She's Already Made Up Her Mind" (both from 1992's "Joshua Judges Ruth") and a remake of "Ain't It Something" (from 1994's "I Love Everybody")
Lovett's 1989 album "Lyle Lovett & His Large Band" earned him a GRAMMY® in the Best Country Vocal Performance, Male, category.
The singer-songwriter spent much of this summer on the road with his 16-piece Large Band, but won't have the group in tow for his fall outing, which is billed as "An Evening with Lyle Lovett."
