Briefly: Paul Westerberg, Travis, All Tomorrow's Parties, Tracy Byrd, Marc Chesnutt
A slew of new Paul Westerberg material is scheduled to arrive in stores in October.
On Oct. 7, Westerberg's alter-ego Grandpaboy releases an album titled Dead Man Shake via Fat Possum Records.
Then, on Oct. 21, Vagrant Records releases the new Westerberg album "Come Feel Me Tremble." It features 14 new tracks and a cover of Jackson Browne's "These Days," according to his publicist. A documentary DVD of the same name--which chronicles Westerberg's 2002 solo tour--will be issued simultaneously.
Scottish rock act Travis drops a new single titled "Re-Offender," which the band co-produced with Tchad Blake, on Sept. 29. The single is the band's first release since its 2001 LP "The Invisible Band.
The Matt Groening-curated West Coast All Tomorrow's Parties festival has been rescheduled for Nov. 8 and 9 at the Queen Mary Ship in Long Beach, CA.
The lineup will include Iggy & the Stooges, Modest Mouse, Built to Spill, Cat Power, The Mars Volta, Spoon and a duet featuring surviving Minutemen George Hurley and Mike Watt.
More information--including the full bill--is available at the event's website.
Beaumont, TX, will get Labor Day performances by hometown country singers Tracy Byrd and Marc Chesnutt on Monday (9/1). The show, at the Southeast Texas Entertainment Complex, will also feature Hootie & the Blowfish and The Marshall Tucker Band, among others.
