Briefly: Bruce Springsteen, 'Bad Boys II,' MTV awards, Triumph, New Found Glory
Bruce Springsteen 's Sept. 20 performance, which was initially scheduled to take place at Buffalo, NY's 80,000-capacity Ralph Wilson Stadium, has been moved to the nearby, 22,000-capacity Darien Lake Performing Arts Center.
According to Ticketmaster, refunds are available at the point of purchase, or original tickets should be exchanged for Darien Lake PAC tickets; Ralph Wilson Stadium ticket holders can contact Ticketmaster for additional information. Tickets for the Darien Lake show will go on sale on Saturday (8/16) at 10 a.m. Eastern Time.
For the fourth consecutive week, the "Bad Boys II" soundtrack--which features collaborations by several top rappers--leads The Billboard 200 album chart, according to industry sources.
About 121,000 copies of the album sold in the last week, topping "NOW That's What I Call Music! Vol. 13" hits compilation, which sold 82,000 copies.
The week's top debut was Wynonna's "What the World Needs Now Is Love," which sold 54,000 copies to clock in at No. 8.
Hip-hop/R&B queen Mary J. Blige has been added to the list of performers at the MTV Video Music Awards, joining previously announced acts Christina Aguilera, 50 Cent , Coldplay and Good Charlotte.
The awards will be handed out at an Aug. 28 ceremony that will be broadcast live from New York's Radio City Music Hall.
Long-mothballed Canadian hard-rock trio Triumph makes a return of sorts with the Sept. 23 release of the separate DVD and CD releases of "Live at the US Festival."
The CD and DVD document Triumph's performance at the 1983 US Festival, which also featured Van Halen, Scorpions, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Motley Crue and Quiet Riot.
The releases mark the 20th anniversary of the three-day US festival, which was conceived and produced by Apple Computers co-founder Steve Wozniak and took place near San Bernardino, CA.
Florida-based rockers New Found Glory will meet with service members at Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii on Thursday (8/14). Band members, on their first USO tour, will visit with troops, sign autographs and tour the base
