Dixie Chicks, Faith Hill Added To Web Launch Party
The Oct. 29 event, dubbed iBash '99, will be broadcast live on the pixelon.com website, but will be viewable only by those who download a free Pixelon Player.
According to a press release issued by Pixelon Inc., pixelon.com's parent company, tickets to two shows only will be sold to the public: A 2 p.m. concert at the MGM Grand Garden Arena featuring Chely Wright, LeAnn Rimes, Faith Hill, and The Dixie Chicks; and a 10 p.m. show at the same venue featuring The Who.
Tickets to each show are priced at $10 and are on sale beginning today (10/18). Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit several youth charities in Las Vegas and Orange Country, California, according to Pixelon.
Other performances will be available to the public only via the webcast. The Offspring's performance from the MGM Grand Adventure Theme Park is scheduled to hit the Web at 6:30 p.m., and will be followed by KISS. The Brian Setzer Orchestra is to be webcast from MGM Grand Garden Arena at 8 p.m., followed by Tony Bennett.
Pixelon is billing pixelon.com as the first online broadcast network featuring full-screen, television-quality video and audio. Each performance will be broadcast from multiple cameras so viewers have a choice of camera angles from which to view the event. In addition, performances and backstage footage will be archived and available on the day following the event.
