Def Leppard keeps North American run alive with new shows
British rockers Def Leppard are apparently in no rush to return to their homeland, as the quintet is now slated to rock North American audiences well into August.
The group's latest batch of dates includes an early-August sweep through Canada, tickets for which are due to hit the box office later this month. Detailed on-sale information is posted at the group's website.
Def Leppard has been on the road in the U.S. since late April as it continues to support its tenth album, the aptly titled "X." Released in July of 2002, the album debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The set features the singles "Now" and "Long Long Way to Go," the latter of which surfaced in April.
The group had originally planned to release "Long Long Way to Go" in February, but those plans were pushed back abroad, and were scrapped altogether in North America, according to information posted at the band's site.
"[T]he U.S. division of the record label has finally decided not to release the single in North America at all--neither for radio, nor commercially."
A streaming version of the "Long Long Way to Go" music video is posted at the band's website. The site also contains information that will assist stateside fans in purchasing a copy.
Def Leppard is best known for its '80s and early-'90s heyday, when it churned out multi-platinum sets such as "Pyromania," "Hysteria" and "Adrenalize."
